Simon Milde - Chairman

Simon Milde co-founded Terra Capital Partners and serves as its Chairman. Mr. Milde has over 40 years’ experience in global real estate finance, investment and management. Prior to founding Terra Capital Partners, he was founder and Chairman for approximately 20 years of Jones Lang Wootton North America (now Jones Lang LaSalle), one of the largest global real estate investment management and advisory firms. He also co-founded JLW Realty Advisors, which has grown into a $50 billion global real estate investment management business. Today, operating as ING Clarion, it ranks as one of the largest real estate investment managers in the world. Mr. Mildé is also Chairman of The Greenwich Group International, a global real estate investment banking firm. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Real Estate Roundtable, a past Governor of the Real Estate Board of New York, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Real Estate Institute of New York University.

 

Bruce Batkin - President and Chief Executive Officer

Bruce Batkin co-founded Terra Capital Partners and serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Batkin has over 30 years’ experience in real estate acquisition, finance, development, management and investment banking. Prior to founding Terra Capital Partners, he held senior management positions at Merrill Lynch & Co., Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, ABN Amro and several private real estate development partnerships. Mr. Batkin has acquired major commercial properties throughout the United States and has acted as managing partner in over $4 billion of real estate investments for domestic and foreign investors. He has also managed numerous real estate securities offerings and has advised some of the largest domestic and foreign real estate companies. He holds Series 7, 24 and 63 securities licenses and is a member of the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Batkin received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.

 

Dan Cooperman - Managing Director

Dan Cooperman is Managing Director responsible for loan origination and placement for Terra Capital Partners’ debt and equity investment funds. Mr. Cooperman has 12 years’ experience in the acquisition, financing, leasing and asset management of commercial real estate with an aggregate value of over $5.0 billion. Prior to the formation of Terra Capital Partners, Mr. Cooperman handled all mortgage and mezzanine placement activities for The Greenwich Group International, LLC. Prior to joining The Greenwich Group, Mr. Cooperman worked in Chase Manhattan Bank’s Global Properties Group, where he was responsible for financial analysis and due diligence for the bank’s strategic real estate acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to that time, he spent three years in acquisitions and asset management for JGS, a Japanese conglomerate with global real estate holdings. Mr. Cooperman received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from The University of Colorado at Boulder.

 

Garrett Sheehan - Senior Managing Director

Gary Sheehan is Senior Managing Director responsible for marketing, investor relations and new product development for Terra Capital Partners. Mr. Sheehan has over 25 years' experience in real estate investment and the creation of institutional real estate investment products. Previously, he was Managing Director at Sentinel Real Estate Corporation, a $7 billion private New York based real estate investment manager, where he launched and managed the firm's international investment management business. Previously, he was Managing Director at Jones Lang Wootton (now Jones Lang LaSalle) where he was a member of the Executive Committee and co-head of its Investment Sales and Finance Group. He was also a founding member of the Pivko Group, an international real estate advisory firm, as well as a loan and acquisition officer at the Travelers Insurance Company. He serves a director of ARC Corporate Properties, a private REIT, is a member of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and has been an Advisory Board member of the Family Office Exchange. Mr Sheehan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College and a graduate degree from Oxford University. Adam Kies - Director

Adam Kies is a Director responsible for loan origination and placement for Terra Capital Partners' debt and equity investment funds. Mr. Kies has 14 years of experience in commercial real estate investment and finance. Previously, Mr. Kies led originations and underwriting for Ascent Real Estate Advisors which provided bridge and mezzanine loans across the country. Prior to Ascent, Mr. Kies was a Vice President at Icahn Associates/American Real Estate Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing and structuring a wide range of real estate transactions including direct equity, mezzanine loans, and investments in securities and operating companies. Mr. Kies's career also includes loan underwriting and credit at CS First Boston and Morgan Stanley, REIT equity research at Morgan Stanley, and investment sales and finance at Insignia/ESG (now CB Richard Ellis). Mr. Kies received his BA in Political Science from Haverford College and an MBA in Finance and Master of Urban Planning (MUP) from New York University.

James Flood - Chief Financial and Operating Officer

James Flood is Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer and manages Terra Capital Partners’ finance and operations departments. Mr. Flood has over 30 years’ experience in real estate finance, institutional relations, tax planning and financial management. He spent 14 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of The Related Companies, one of the largest real estate development and management companies in the United States. Mr. Flood is also Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Terra Capital Partners’ affiliate, The Greenwich Group International, a global real estate investment banking firm. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds Series 7 and 24 securities licenses. Mr. Flood received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Manhattan College, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from New York University and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.

Shaunak Tanna - Vice President

Shaunak Tanna is Vice President and manages underwriting and financial analysis for Terra Capital Partners’ loan and asset acquisitions. Mr. Tanna has underwritten commercial properties with an aggregate value of over $3 billion. Prior to joining Terra, he was an analyst in Dun and Bradstreet's Mumbai (India) office. He also spent two years as an auditor with Deloitte and Touche (Mumbai) working on assignments for companies in the oil and gas, agrochemicals and financial services sectors. He is a Chartered Accountant and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Mr. Tanna received his Master of Commerce degree from Mumbai University and an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York.

Jake Kelley - Vice President

Jake Kelley is Vice President responsible for loan origination for Terra Capital Partners' debt and equity investment funds. Mr. Kelley has 10 years experience in financing commercial real estate with an aggregate value of over $5 billion. Prior to joining Terra, Mr. Kelley was a Director in the Global Real Estate Group at Lehman Brothers, based in London, where he was responsible for originating debt investments on European properties. Prior to Lehman, he spent four years in Morgan Stanley's CMBS lending group, where he was responsible for originating and underwriting commercial mortgages throughout the United States. Mr. Kelley began his career at CBRE Capital Markets and holds a BBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
